How to secure your social and Apple accounts as a creator
By Con, founder of Music Wide Selfie · Updated 22 October 2026
Short answerTurn on two-factor authentication everywhere, use a unique password for each account (a password manager helps), never share codes, and be wary of messages claiming your account will be deleted.
Two-factor authentication
Turn it on for your Apple Account, email and every social account. Authenticator apps or passkeys are stronger than SMS where offered.
Passwords
A unique password per account means one leak doesn’t unlock everything. The Passwords app on iPhone can create and store them.
Scams
- No real platform asks for your login code.
- Messages threatening deletion are a common scam.
- Check links go to the real site before logging in.
Recovery
Keep recovery email and phone up to date, and save backup codes somewhere safe.
