Snapchat unban scams: what they look like and how to stay safe

Short answerOnly Snapchat can lift a ban. Anyone asking for money, your password, login codes or remote access to unban you is almost certainly a scam. Use Snapchat’s official support only.

Common scams

  • “Unban services” that charge a fee.
  • People pretending to be Snapchat support in DMs or comments.
  • Tools or files that claim to reset a device ban.
  • Sellers offering “aged” or “unbannable” accounts.

Red flags

  • Asking for your password or a login code.
  • Payment by gift card, crypto or bank transfer.
  • Urgency: “do it now or it’s permanent”.
  • Contact from a personal account rather than official support.

If you already paid or shared details

  1. Change your email password first, then any account that used the same password.
  2. Turn on two-factor authentication.
  3. Contact your bank if you paid.
  4. Report the scam to the platform where it contacted you.

The honest route

Appeal through Snapchat’s official support, then keep creating. What to do after a Snapchat ban.
